DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal hits £40m

So far, DEC member agencies and their partners have reached more than 800,000 people. The British public has given £40m to help the victims of the Pakistan floods, charities have said.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) said donations to its flood appeal have soared by more than 70% from the second week to the third.
The latest figures show the appeal raised £9.5m in week one, £11.2m in week two and £19.3m in week three. The DEC said it had never seen such a pattern of giving for any appeal in its 45-year history.
